The Green Consultancy is a leading independent specialist in energy and carbon and environmental management, including legal compliance. We have been providing an extensive range of services to UK organisations of all types since 1992 – including over 100 NHS Trusts, and 60% of all UK universities.

TGC is one of the very few UK energy consultancies to employ independent energy measurement and verification professionals, working to the globally recognised Efficiency Valuation Organisation’s (EVO) International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).

TGC is an associate consultancy of The British Standards Institute and provides consultancy on environmental management standards such as ISO 14001 and BS8555 and energy management standard ISO 50001 together with the new BSI Energy Reduction Verification Kitemark, based on elements of ISO 50001.

The Green Consultancy’s Quality Management System  have been registered by a UKAS accredited assessor to ISO 9001:2008.

The Green Consultancy’s Environmental Management System have been registered by a UKAS accredited assessor to ISO 14001:2004 respectively

We are approved by, and a member of, the Energy Services and Technology Association which is the UK’s leading Energy Management industry association.Our Managing Director, John Treble, is a member of its Council and Independent Energy Consultants Group.

The Green Consultancy is a member of EAUC – the Environmental Association of Universities and Colleges, a not-for-profit charity with a membership of over 300 universities and colleges, supporting sustainability within the UK tertiary education sector.

We are approved by Constructionline to carry out energy and sustainability related consultancy work.  Constructionline is the UK's register of pre-qualified construction and construction-related contractors and consultants.  It is owned by the Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform (BERR; formerly the DTI) and serves over 1,700 UK public sector organisations across the range from large central government departments and agencies to local authorities, housing associations, universities and NHS trusts.  A high proportion of these are clients of The Green Consultancy.
