Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD)

The aim of this EU Directive is to reduce the energy used in buildings as part of a Europe wide initiative to cut carbon emissions.

It came into force on 4th January 2003 and its 15 articles are being progressively implemented by the UK Government.

The Directive is due to be recast by the end of 2009 for implementation in 2010-11.  It is expected to be more ambitious and, for example, to include Display Energy Certificates (DECs) for smaller buildings and those in the private sector.

The Green Consultancy provides efficient and competitive services for compliance with all three aspects of the Directive.
